Exeter club given gold award for top squash courts
EXETER Golf & Country Club have unveiled three newly refurbished squash courts as part of an ongoing investment in the club's sport facilities.
The refurbishment to three of the six squash courts includes glass backs which will allow improved viewing for spectators.
The squash courts at the club were awarded Gold Standard by England Squash & Racketball — only the second club in the region to receive this accolade.
The courts were officially opened by representatives from the England Squash & Racketball, including regional manager Matt Baker.
He said: "The Exeter Golf & Country Club squash courts have always been some of the best in Devon and these improvements really enhance this status. The squash courts really do set the club apart from other squash clubs in Devon. Now newly refurbished, I would expect any player to be incredibly excited by the quality of the courts at the club."
Exeter G&CC is one the few facilities within the city to offer squash to its members.
And general manager Martin Halse says the club is always looking for new ways to make conditions better.
"We are incredibly proud of the facilities we now offer and we're constantly looking at ways we can further improve the club," he said.
