Exeter magistrates adjourn Kevin Wright "abusive behaviour" case until June

BUSINESSMAN Kevin Wright will face a trial in June over allegations that he behaved in a threatening way towards two men.

The 49-year-old, formerly of Kenn near Exeter, has pleaded not guilty to an offence of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to Eric and Daniel Webber.

The incident occurred on September 11 last year and it is claimed his behaviour had the intent of causing the men to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by them, and those persons were likely to believe that such violence would be used.

The case came before Exeter magistrates today (Thursday, February 7) but was adjourned until June 7 when a trial will be held as Wright has pleaded not guilty. Wright, who also owns property in Tiverton, is currently on bail on the condition that he does not contact either Eric or Daniel Webber, or a third man, Michael Frankpitt.
