Exeter man appears in court charged with three counts of raping teenager and grooming her

A 41-YEAR-OLD Exeter man has appeared in court charged with raping an underage girl and grooming her.

Saffet Temizbas, of Stuart Road, Exeter, faced four charges when he appeared before Exeter magistrates court.

It is alleged that he engaged in sexual activity with a 15 year old girl on three occasions between June and July last year.

He also faces a fourth charge of, having on at least two occasions communicated with a girl under 16, met her and he intended to do something during or after the meeting which would have involved the commission of on offence under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, namely sexual activity with a child.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear before a judge at Exeter Crown Court next month for a preliminary hearing.
