FLOUR POWER: Cricklepit Mill
Starting at 11am, children will have the chance to hand decorate four cupcakes and design a gift box to give to mum. It costs £6 per child and places must be booked on 01392 878228.
Another food-related activity taking place today is milling at , Exeter's Cricklepit Mill. Flour has been milled there since the 13th century and today, from 1pm to 5pm, visitors can meet Devon Wildlife Trust's volunteer millers and see them stone-grinding wheat the traditional way. Booking is essential. For more information, call 01392 279244.
Looking ahead to the weeks and months to come, more fun and free activities are in the pipeline thanks to the Exeter Play Rangers' service being funded for at least another year.
The rangers will now provide free weekly play sessions at over 20 new sites in the city for six to eight weeks each. The new fund has also created a partnership between the Play Rangers and the Devon Youth Service.
For the first time, youth centres across the city will open during school holidays and play rangers will be at sessions to increase the activities available, focusing on eight to 12-year-olds but with one session for eight to 16-year-olds.
For more details about the Play Ranger sessions, call 01392 265876.
