Have forgotten what Sharon's talk was about last night because there was a huge distraction sitting on the table behind her. One of our class had gone to the trouble of making some salmon pate and some blueberry muffins, from a couple of WeightWatchers recipes in the magazine. The results were there, arranged on two plates, and I found I was fixated on these, rather than on what Sharon was saying.
At the end of the evening there was an unseemly stampede to the table to sample as much as we possibly could. All low in points though. The pate, in particular, was really good.
Had lunch with our sales team today at a local Chinese restaurant. It was one of those buffet-style lunches where you can eat as much as you like. So I did! I had to stuff down the last bit because there was a notice on the table saying that there would be a 30 per cent surcharge if there was a lot of food left. A ploy to stop people loading up their plates and then leaving it.
Waddled back to work and tried not to doze off over my computer. Didn't eat again until about 8pm.

Walked into work as per usual. Egg butties for lunch as a treat, although since we are eating out or partying for much of the rest of this week, maybe it should have been some zero points soup.
Visited fave bar steward tonight and had a sandwich and shared a bowl of chips. No ice cream though.

Really looking forward to this evening. We are going on our works leaving do, and it is going to be a boat down the canal to the Double Locks pub, plus a meal there.
The boat trip lived up to our expectations. We had a hilarious awards ceremony, with champagne, on the trip down, followed by burger and chips at the pub. No time for pudding, which was just as well, before the trip back to the quay. Not going to count points for the rest of this week.

House cleaning day today, as we are having a family barbecue tomorrow, and I have to make a stab at having a reasonably clean establishment. All is accomplished by lunchtime except for a patch of weeds on the drive. We decide go out to lunch instead of clearing them, as we can always leave the car parked on the weeds tomorrow. Out of sight, out of mind, as they say.
Go to Tesco and buy all the supplies needed for tomorrow plus some salads as a nod to healthy eating.
Prepare a trifle before spending the evening swigging wine and eating strawberries.

Dawns the day of our barbecue and it is raining. Well, that is putting it mildly. It is a monsoon. Tell husband to hold his nerve and that all will be well; it is hours until we have to start cooking on the thing.
We had decided on the barbecue after much debate, and only on the condition that husband kept clear of the tomato ketchup. Decided it was safer for our guests to help themselves to their own condiments.
Everyone arrives on time, poor things, and we fire up the barbie. Any one for a beef burger? And by the way, those black objects are sausages.
Thank heavens for the trifle.
Had a lovely day of gossip and eating. Dread to think how much weight I have gained by Tuesday. It showed up as an extra 2lbs on my scales this morning, and it's only Sunday.

Walked briskly into work in an attempt to burn up a few calories. Dog refused breakfast this morning as he is still full of yesterday's burnt sausages. He hasn't been sick though, which is a good sign. Probably means that our guests are okay as well.
Big mixed salad for lunch followed by fresh strawberries and then a walk home again.
Chicken, veg and bread sauce for dinner followed by two lollipops. Much better! Dog still not eating.

Hooray! Dog ate a plate of ham meant for husband's lunch. At least his system is functioning again.
Made lunch for husband with corned beef instead of ham and had a WeightWatchers tin of tuna and salad for myself.
Half day at work as I have an interview this afternoon, but will go on to our WeightWatchers meeting later. Shan't weigh myself though.
