SHOOTING enthusiasts will gather at a city shop on Friday for an open day organised by a conservation society.

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) event takes place at the Sportsman Gun Centre, on Apple Lane Industrial Estate, on Friday.

Conservation expert and author Robin Marshall-Ball will be at the event, as will representatives of several companies associated with the sport.

There will be a chance to test guns on a Marksman shooting simulator and have a shoot-off with two London 2012 hopefuls.

BASC and Help for Heroes will be supported with a draw and the shop, one of the largest dedicated to shooting in Europe, will offer some discounts for BASC members.

The event runs from 3pm to 9pm.
