AN exercise class that helps new mums get back into shape without having to worry about childcare is proving so popular that more sessions are being introduced.

The classes, run by personal trainer and weight management consultant Trudi Snell, are at Topsham Rugby Club. Mums are welcome to bring their little ones with them.

Mum-of-two Trudi started running the weekly Mother and Baby Exercise Classes because she knows first hand how difficult it is to fit exercise sessions around childcare.

Women are welcome from six weeks after giving birth to those with children under five.

Due to demand, as well as the classes held every Tuesday at 11.15am, 1pm and 2pm, an additional class is running at the same venue on Fridays at 9.15am. In the pipeline is an extra Monday and Wednesday classes.

Trudi, 29, from Topsham, said: "My aim was to make the classes as parent and child friendly as possible. We limit the numbers for safety with only seven mums in every class.

"We do 55 minutes of fat-burning circuits and target areas of the body mums are concerned about like their legs, bums and tums, as well as working out the whole body.

"The children have a great big box of toys, which some completely ignore in favour of playing with a Reebok step, or anything that's around. We all pitch in and help each other out with the children. It is working really well."

Classes cost £5 after a free trial and must be booked and paid for a month at a time. Call 07816 781326.
