George Arnison, from the Environment Agency, said: "We want a scheme which protects the city and that the people who live and work in Exeter are happy with. The exhibition will give people the opportunity people to look at the draft plans and to share their views."
It is hoped that improvements to the scheme built in the 60s and 70s will reduce the risk of flooding and provide in excess of £200m of direct economic benefit to the city.
