Flood water is causing chaos for drivers right across the region.

East Devon has been worst hit. Drivers commuting to Exeter from Exmouth faced long delays, as this picture from Exton shows.

Diversions are in place but nmany drivers simply gave up. Some schools are likely to be affected. Sidmouth Primary school is closed this morning.

The region has been put on an Amber flood alert, the second highest risk rating by the Met Office.
