Flybe pleased with Easter bookings on its most popular routes
Flybe is gearing up for a busy holiday weekend, with bookings to date up four per cent over last year on its 50 most popular routes for Easter.
The Exeter-based airline said Good Friday looks set to be one of the busiest days as people head off to enjoy the first long break of the year.
Bookings for flights from Exeter to Alicante are up 49 per cent, after the frequency of services on the popular sun route was increased this year.
Also among its best-selling routes over the upcoming holiday weekend are Manchester to Paris Charles de Gaulle route (with bookings up 42 per cent), Belfast City to Birmingham (up 38 per cent), Jersey to Southampton (up 28 per cent), Birmingham to Edinburgh (up 17 per cent).

The airline will be hoping for strong sales over the Easter break as it targets a return to profitability. As part of a turnaround plan announced in January, nearly 100 staff at its Exeter headquarters are losing their jobs as Flybe cuts 10 per cent of its UK workforce.
The four-day holiday also spans the start of the airline’s 2013 summer flying programme, which consists of up to 2,986 flights a week on 146 routes, 14 of which are operating for the first time this summer.
Andrew Strong, Flybe UK managing director, said: “Flybe is in a better position than any other regional airline to meet the demands over what is one of the busiest travel periods of the year. We operate to and from 85 regional UK and European airports and are naturally pleased that people are choosing to fly with us for their Easter holiday travel.”
