Fresh appeal to trace three men in knife attack

POLICE have refreshed their appeal for information after a man was left with slash marks all over his face and body in an unprovoked attack.

As previously reported in the Echo, the victim was set upon by three men in the incident in Tiverton.

Police said that the victim was walking along Wellbrook Street, near the Wetherspoons pub and St Paul's Church, between 3am and 3.30am when he was attacked.

During the incident, which happened on Sunday, August 15, he was punched to the ground and then assaulted with a knife.

A spokesman for Devon & Cornwall Police said: "The attack was particularly vicious and as a result, the victim sustained a slash wound to his forehead, another to the little finger on his left hand and also to his right shin and required hospital treatment."

The first suspect is described as being aged 20, around 5ft 8in tall, of stocky and muscular build, with short cropped light blond hair, untidily gelled.

He was wearing a light collared shirt and blue jeans.

The other two suspects are also around 20, about 5ft 6in tall, skinny and gaunt.

One had a shaven head and wore a black hoodie.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information .
