AN OPEN meeting to launch a new Friends of Higher Cemetery group will be held next Monday.

The meeting will identify areas of interest for the group and will include a walk around the cemetery.

Members of the friends group will have the opportunity to get involved in activities such as conservation, family history research and raising the cemetery's profile and educational value in the community.

The meeting will take place from 6.30pm to 8pm in the chapel at Higher Cemetery, St Mark's Avenue.

Anyone interested in taking part is welcome to come along and find out more about the group.
