Fundraisers across Exeter are preparing to take part in Macmillan Cancer Support's popular World's Biggest Coffee Morning event. On Friday, September 28, the Mayor of Exeter is due to visit St Andrew's Church Hall in Alphington Road, where anyone is welcome to drop in for coffee and cake in return for a suggested donation of £3.

There will also be music and a prize draw. Elsewhere, the M&S Café in Exeter High Street will donate 50p for every coffee sold on Friday to Macmillan to help people affected by cancer.

Those taking part in events across the city will be joining over 4 million people in the UK who are expected to host or attend a coffee morning, supporting Macmillan's goal of raising over £10.8million this year.

M&S is aiming to raise over £500,000 – the amount needed to operate the Macmillan Support Line service for two months. The partnership between M&S Cafés and Macmillan has to date raised over £1million, helping to fund the Macmillan Support Line for the past two years.
