Gardeners get together to swap and chat
A PRODUCE swap day is being held in a city park at the weekend.
The even takes place on Saturday, September 15, at Belmont Pleasure Ground.
Organisers Harvest, a charity project to encourage food-growing skills, wants people to bring food they have, grown, picked, pickled, preserved or baked so they can swap it for other produce.
Harvest project worker Ellie Parker said she wanted to see as many people as possible at the event.

She said: "We've run a few of these swap events now, and they're becoming more and more popular.
"People really enjoy getting together with others with a shared interest in food growing.
"They love swapping seeds, plants and getting tips and advice as well."
Children will be able to try their hand at apple pressing as well as lots of other activities and there will be storytelling sessions from Love Local Food.
For the less energetic there will be light lunches available from the Harvest Café, a chance to solve gardening conundrums at a Meet the Expert surgery and Men in Sheds, a social group which organises activities for men over 50, will be selling their recycled garden tools.
There will also be recycled books from BookCycle, a chance to meet people from Exeter Community Agriculture and live music from Jake Slocombe and Kimwei Westbury.
The Swap will run between 11am and 2pm in Belmont Hut.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
