A GIANT rabbit will stage a protest in Exeter city centre today in a bid to save animals from being used for tests by companies.

The man in the rabbit costume will be joined by other city campaigners asking shoppers to sign a pledge to boycott a well-known hair care range until they stop testing on animals.

The public will also be urged to lobby their MEPs to defend a scheduled European ban on animal-tested cosmetics due in 2013.

The Exeter protest is part of an in day of action led by UK group Uncaged.
