EXETER Golf & Country Club are through to the Palairet Trophy finals day after a convincing 4-1 win over Ilfracombe last Sunday.

Exeter will face Newton Abbot-based Stover in their semi-final at Yelverton Golf Club on August 15. The other semi will be between Libbaton and Staddon Heights.

The Exeter team played Ilfracombe at Tavistock and, with the captain changing some of the pairs around, they dominated the match.

The first three games were all won outright, so the last two were conceded as halves.

Stover reached the prestigious finals day with a 3.5-1.5 win over Okehampton at Tiverton.
