Gregory and Wellicome claim their first Devon county titles
MIKE Gregory and Zoe Wellicome won their first county racketball titles at the Devon championships last weekend.
They emerged victorious at the event staged at their home Devon & Exeter Squash & Racketball Club.
The men's final between long-time rivals Gregory and Matt Baker lived up to expectation.
Gregory won the first game before Baker won the next two. The fourth game saw Baker waste a number of match balls before Gregory snatched it 13-11.

That took its toll on Baker, who was forced to retire through injury early in the fifth.
Paul Gregory made it a family affair as he won the men's plate event for first round losers. The Devon & Exeter player beat Andy Jones 3-0.
The final of the men's classic event, for second round losers, saw Paul Smith narrowly get the better of his fellow Devon & Exeter club member Rob Watkins 3-2.
In the ladies' event the final was also a cracker, with Devon's two best female players Karen Bealey and Zoe Wellicome battling it out.
Wellicombe dropped the first game, but from that point on her power was a telling factor as she won 3-1.
