Group marks its 30th year on the stage
THE memories and imaginations were stirred among thespians in Pinhoe as they recalled the highlights of 30 years on the stage in preparation for an anniversary performance next week.
Members of Pinhoe Pantomime Society, both old and new, put their heads together and compiled a list of their favourite songs and dances spanning three decades to celebrate the society's 30th birthday.

The result of weeks of reminiscing will be evident in the society's summer show, Reflections, which sees the members' favourite memories woven into a celebratory storyline for what could be their most spectacular performance yet.
The show will be brimming with favourite songs from show-stopping musicals including Fiddler on the Roof, Godspell, Grease, Hairspray and Mamma Mia.
The society's producer, Andy Northey, came up with the idea for the story, which has been written by Annette Ward and links the musical numbers.
Stories, poems and comedy sketches will also be performed throughout.
The story follows a group of friends who are also celebrating 30 years in showbusiness.
The show starts with Amy, Bella, Billy, Charlie and Jules, as they are now, celebrating at their 30th anniversary party.
The five friends begin to reflect on their humble beginnings, why they decided to perform annual musicals, the bonds they made and how being part of the group affected their lives.
Younger actors then take over and play the parts of the five characters, as they are transported back 30 years to their 20s.
Audiences can expect the show to feature Pinhoe's answer to Michael Ball, Andy Northey, who will be assuming Michael's role as Edna Turnball in West End musical Hairspray while wearing a rather fetching frock.
Isobel Court, the society's assistant director who also plays the younger Bella, said: "Andy's idea has been particularly novel this year and he has chosen some fantastic show stoppers for us to perform.
"I have enjoyed sharing the choreography with him.
"The cast has been wonderful and has learned a challenging 30 numbers for the show."
Teresa Stewart, who plays older Bella, said: "My daughter, Isobel, is playing the younger Bella, while I play the older Bella — which is quite novel too!
"It has given us the opportunity to sing the songs we have enjoyed singing over the last 30 years with a storyline which celebrates our anniversary.
"I hope the audience enjoy it as much as us."
