Growing number of new companies 'testament to Exeter's resilience'
The number of new companies formed in Exeter has risen sharply in the past year, according to new research.
The Duport Business Confidence Report reveals that the third quarter of 2012 saw 232 new companies formed in Exeter – a 25 per cent rise on the same period in 2011.
And the city is significantly ahead of the UK average increase in company formations, which stands at just four per cent.
Peter Valaitis, managing director of Duport.co.uk, said: "The growing number of company registrations in Exeter is a testament to the city's resilience in the face of tough economic conditions."
