Based on Julia Donaldson's prize winning book, which has sold over 10.5 million copies, the play has been described as "A fine piece of children's theatre" by The Sunday Times and "Monstrous Fun" by The Daily Mail.
Matt Newbury, Communications Officer at Exeter Northcott Theatre said: "We are over-the-moon to be welcoming back The Gruffalo, direct from a smash hit West End Season. We have a great relationship with Tall Stories, who created this monster musical stage adaptation and we are also delighted to announce that Tall Stories will be returning with our Christmas Show, The Snail and the Whale throughout December."
Since its 2001 premiere, the exuberant adaptation of firm favourite The Gruffalo has been performed across the globe in countries including Poland, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Chile as well as in North America from Broadway to Alaska and Canada.
Voted the nation's number one bedtime story by BBC Radio 2 listeners, in the UK The Gruffalo has been spied on the summer Festival circuit playing in front of 16,000 people at Camp Bestival and has even hit the small screens in a star-studded TV animation.
To find out that there is such thing as a Gruffalo and meet his friends a wheeler-dealer Fox, an eccentric old Owl and a maraca-shaking, party mad Snake visit www.exeternorthcott.co.uk. However the musical adaptation on Saturday and Sunday have now sold out with tickets only currently available for the Friday shows.
