Half term children's activities in and around Tiverton
February half term is almost upon us, and despite the terrible weather, there's plenty happening in and around Tiverton to keep the youngsters amused.
With Mother's Day just around the corner, the Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life is holding a special two-day Spring Craft Activities for children to make a gift including making a mother's day card, decorating a flower pot, making a bag or mobile phone charm.
The sessions are on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 February (sessions are 11.00am -12.30pm and 2.00pm-3.30pm both days). Booking is recommended. Cost is £2.50 per child, which includes all materials (accompanying adult free). The activities are suitable for children aged 4 and over. Under 8's must be supervised by a responsible adult. Please email education@tivertonmuseum.org.uk or call the museum for more information or to book a place.Alternatively, you are invited to visit Knighthayes Court for some half term fun, as the staff dust off the house and spruce up garden ready for a new season. There's a trail in the garden for the whole family to explore. Open from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Exeter City's Football in the Community Charity will be holding one day course for boys and girls of all abilities, aged 5 to 14, at Tiverton High School's grass pitches on Friday, February 22.

The course is 10am - 3pm and costs £15. Don't forget to bring your football boots and trainers, shin pads, packed lunch, plenty to drink and sensible clothing for the weather conditions. Children making their own way home must have a letter of authority from a parent or guardian.

Treasure trails are a great way to explore your local town. The Tiverton Murder Mystery Trail is a circular trail, approximately 1 1/2 miles long and takes around 2 hours. The trail is set along roads and pavements and is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchair users. The booklet with the trail costs £5.99 and is available from here.
