The school, which is owned by the Woodard Group, will close because it is no longer "financially viable" with low forecasts for pupil numbers being blamed. A campaign had been set up to try and save the school but some of those who had hoped to see it continue announced their efforts had failed earlier this week.
A spokesman for Woodard said: "Lee Bergin has announced to parents that he has been offered and accepted a post as headmaster of a school in Cheshire, September 1."
