Health workers in pay protest
WORKERS have held another demonstration against regional pay outside the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.
They lobbied a meeting of the RD&E Trust board to protest at the launch of a South West consortium of trusts, which they fear could lead to a cut in pay and conditions. Sue Orwin, a regional representative of Unison, said: "We are campaigning against the South West pay cartel being set up and the effect it could have on pay and conditions.

"We estimate it could ultimately lead to a 15 per cent cut in pay by breaking away from the national Agenda for Change agreement. It would also have an effect on the region – the South West would become a place where people won't want to come work. The campaign is ongoing and we have had a lot of support from the public."
