FINGLE Glen professional Paul Hendriksen was in confident mood after booking his place in the second qualifying stage of the European Tour School.

The 29-year-old's seven under par score of 281 at Golf de Moliets in France was enough to book him his place in the next round in Spain in November.

Hendriksen had a poor start with a five-over round of 77 on day one, but he recovered to post a 67, a 65 and a final round level-par 72 to finish tied for 21st place — two shots ahead of the cut.

He said: "I think five under par was the mark to get through, so I'm pleased I was above that.

"I'm confident heading to Spain. I might need to practise on the putting a little after a poor first round, but I'm pleased to have qualified."

Other Devon pros through to the second stage include Kevin Harper (East Devon) and Chris Gill (Exeter).
