MOULDER'S Mongrels continued their winning form in the Tiverton Pool League, with a 7-2 victory over Barley Mow A.

The league leaders won the first five frames to secure the points.

Hare & Hounds B kept up the pressure on the Mongrels with a 7-2 win over bottom side Con Club A. Queens Head A beat Aldo's Hounds 5-4 despite clearances from Hounds' Andy Dobson and Andy Tanton.

In the other game in Division 1, Racehorse beat Half Moon 6-3.

In Division 2, Seven Stars continued their unbeaten league campaign with a 5-4 win over Any Pub Will Do.

The Stars found themselves 4-3 down, only for Gary Broom & Thomas Cleverley to once again win the final frame. Any Pub's Jay Lyons produced a clearance from the break in this match.

Seven Stars Superstars lost their first league game of the season to an in-form Queen's Head B. The Queen's made short work of it, securing the points in the singles.

Con Club Wildcats had a close encounter of the hairy kind. They were level at 4-4 with Hairy Dog and it was left to the all-female pairing of Ali Vellacott & Tania Smith to win the final frame.

White Horse Exiles beat Full Metal Heathcoat 6-3 in the other game , Exiles 5-1 up after the singles.
