EXMOUTH were not too disappointed their National League Three South West game against Bridgwater was frozen off as they had numerous selection headaches for the game.

The match will now be played this Saturday at the Imperial Ground and the delay has done Exmouth a favour.

Coach Jon Hill is looking forward to picking from an expanded squad thanks to the weekend off.

"Adam Wyllie, Shane Cooper and Milo Reynolds all come back into contention, which will strengthen the options in the pack," said Hill.

"George Meadows is back from England Colleges duties, but we won't have Ben King or Will Norton, who were away with George.

"WIll has a game for Exeter Chiefs academy on Sunday against the South West under-18s and I can't see him being allowed to play two games in two days.

"Ben is carrying a knock and will be rested for this game."

While the weather did Exmouth a favour, Newton Abbot are not relishing going to leaders Bournemouth as they have a depleted squad.

Skipper and No. 8 Ben Cole is missing, as is player-coach and full-back Andy Birkett, while centre Stephen Ward is a doubt.

"There aren't too many Saturdays off in the season and players tend to book them up months in advance to do something with their wives or families," said Newton's director of rugby Phil Burford.

Burford is hoping Exeter Chiefs will release utility back Sam Jones and prop Ben Rogers to play.
