WEEK 18 of the Tiverton & District Winter Pool League saw the first round of the pairs competition get under way at four venues around the town.

At the Con Club, Kim Goldsworthy and Jeremy Roberts (Hare & Hounds B) and Andy Dobson and Kim Garnsworthy (Aldos's Hounds) both got through to the quarter-finals.

At the Half Moon, Greg Batten and Paul Mitchell from Moulder's Mongrels went through along with Stuart Palk and James Davey (Hare & Hounds B).

At the Queen's Head, home advantage proved to be a valuable assist as Dave Clarke and Rob Davey and Roger Bridgeman and Dave Greedy (all from Queen's Head A) made it through to the last eight.

At the final venue, Hare & Hounds, Mark Aldridge and Andy Tanton (Aldo's Hounds) qualified along with previous winners Mike Hotchkiss and Chris Panchez (Queen's Head A).
