Honours joy for Olympian
MARY King says being awarded an MBE is "the icing on the cake after an amazing year".
The 51-year-old from East Devon was given the reward in the New Year's Honours list after helping Team GB win the silver medal in Eventing at the Olympics.
She said: "It's such an exciting honour to receive."
Others on the list included Ann Barwood of Exminster who has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM), for her voluntary services to Exeter Cathedral and Professor Brian Golding from Sidmouth who has an OBE for his work in predicting hazardous weather.
