Horse rescued from steep hill in Exwick and donkey saved from bog in Tavistock
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service rescued an elderly horse that had slipped down a steep bank in Exwick at midday today.
Fire crews from Danes Castle, Middlemoor and the specialist rescue team from Service Headquarters attended the incident at 11:58am in the Exwick area.

The crews assisted a vet to recover the horse.
In another equine related incident one fire appliance from Tavistock together with a Specialist Rescue Team from Camelshead rescued a pony that was stuck in a bog in the Whitchurch area of Tavistock at 8:34am this morning.

The pony was rescued by fire crews from the bog using small tools, lines, water rescue equipment, shacs equipment and animal rescue equipment.
The animal was then left in hands of vet and farmer.
