5PM: Teenager Charlie Rowe has been banned from a city centre pub by magistrates following a violent outburst in which he ripped out a beer pump and threw it behind the bar — after drinking 13 pints of cider.
Rowe, 19, of Thornpark Rise, Exeter, admitted damaging a beer pump belonging to John Gandy's pub in Gandy Street, Exeter, on Valentine's Day.

4PM: Fresh calls are being made for Devon County Council to spend £10m it has set aside for a new city library.
They come as figures reveal that more than 400 other projects have already benefited from the cash.
The £10m for the state-of-the- art library was promised more than two years ago from the £48m the county council made through the sale of Exeter International Airport.

3PM: Residents are campaigning to save a city bus shelter following calls for it to be removed due to anti-social behaviour.
Dozens of residents in Barley Mount, Redhills, have signed a petition to save the shelter, which they has been sent to Devon County Council.

2PM: Plans for the multi-million pound redevelopment of Exeter Bus Station have been welcomed by business leaders in the city.
As revealed in yesterday's Echo, the city council has announced that Princesshay owner Land Securities has been asked to rejuvenate the site.
The developer has previously spoken to department store giant John Lewis about a possible move to the bus station, and hopes are growing that a deal can now be done.

1PM: Half a world away from Afghanistan, a group of Royal Marine Reservists about to deploy to the front line are learning that the art of winning a war is as much about words as action.
The reservists have just returned from the two-week Exercise Southbound Trooper in the USA, where a snow capped mountain range in Virginia has doubled for Afghanistan.
As well as live exercises, the RMR were also introduced to the concept of CIMIC, Civil Military Co-ordination — getting local population on your side by demonstrating that there will be help to recover from the conflict.

NOON: Friends and comrades of fallen soldier and police community police officer Mark Marshall are planning a number of memorials in his name.
The 29-year-old serviceman, also worked as a PCSO in the Countess Wear area of the city.
Hundreds of mourners attended the full military service at Belmont Chapel, in Western Way, to pay their last respects to the Territorial Army soldier.

11AM: Intrepid journalist Kate Adie will discuss the tools of her trade at an award ceremony this summer.
Kate, who became a household name as the BBC's Chief News Correspondent, will talk of her experience of learning essential job skills.
She will give the keynote speech at the South West Skills Awards at Sandy Park in Exeter on Wednesday, June 2.

10AM: Firefighters have issued advice to smokers after a man was treated by crews following a flat blaze in Tiverton.
Two crews were called to tackle the fire at the flat in St Peter Street shortly before 1.30 this morning.
The man had to be helped from the flat by firefighters and police evacuated other flats in the building.
The fire is believed to have been caused by smoking implements.
