I HAVE written many letters to the Echo expressing my strong disapproval of the medieval sport of hunting deer and foxes, with hounds, for fun.

However, a supporter of the sport, writing in the May 13 edition of Horse & Hound magazine, says: "This is a sport that can become compulsive. The thread from deer to hound to man is so reactive and strong it has the ability to bring out the caveman in us all."

Hunt supporter David Cameron describes his Conservative Party as modern and compassionate, yet he wishes to allow a free vote in the Commons on repealing the Hunting Act which would enable his Tory friends to go on chasing and killing animals for fun.

I describe hunting with dogs for sport as medieval and barbaric, but it appears to me that some are happy for us to revert to the Stone Age.
