Hunting is for fun, not to provide food
WITH reference to the letter written by M Lewis, People forget foxes are pests, not pets, Points of view, April 16, how ludicrous is it to compare the activities of animals who are obliged to kill in order to survive and not starve, to the chasing and killing of animals for fun. When does a hunter eat fox? I have never seen it on a menu and I should think the poor thing would not be in a fit state to eat by the time the dogs had finished with it. Hunting makes very little difference to fox numbers, and as Edward Lycett-Green of the Portland fox hounds said: "We are in the entertainment and leisure business."

“Haha, Portland Hounds? who are they? That pack does not exist! This peron obviously knows very little about hunting.”
