Impressive win for Emily at Plymouth

TIVERTON'S Emily Abraham won the Devon Girls nine-and-under 200m breaststroke at the Devon County Championships in Plymouth.

She clocked a time of 3:32.53, which is also a Western Counties qualifying time. Lucy Abraham was fourth in the girls' 12-and-under 200m breaststroke in a personal best time of 3:12.59. Lewis Henry took two seconds off his personal best time in the boys' 14-and-under 50m breaststroke in 37:69. Will Parr was well placed in the boys' 50m breaststroke and the 100m individual medley in a tough 15-and-under category.

Dominic Fullick just missed out on the final of the boys' 16-and-under 50m breaststroke.

This weekend more Tiverton swimmers will compete in the second of the four Devon County Swimming Championship events at the Exe Valley Leisure Centre in Tiverton. Head coach Steve Carder said: "This is an excellent start to the Devon Championships for the squad."

Members of Tiverton Swimming Club will be taking part in a sponsored swim on Sunday, March 14 at the Exe Valley Leisure Centre to raise much-needed club funds.
