IN reference to the front page of the Culm Valley Gazette, Rock band pens song in memory of soldier, August 12, I would like to say a massive well done and thank you to Hailing Star and their friends and family who have been working hard on this project.

In a world where we are fighting a growing number of youth crimes and violence, it is a true inspiration to see Luke, Matt, Helen and Elliott of Hailing Star demon- strating a true fighting spirit.

I have been fortunate enough to listen to and work with these wonderful young people during the rehearsals for our up and coming Cullaboration Youth Concert and I can honestly say they show such dedication, determination and passion for their work that they are and inspiration to us all.

Their song Lost Heroes demonstrates their musical talent, their efforts as a team and the emotion shows such maturity and emotion that is lost in society today.

Once again we are being shown that we have so many local talents that we can be proud of. I have been fortunate to work with some amazing local young talents in the build-up to the live performance at the end of August and I can honestly say it makes all the hard work worth it when you see these young people putting their heart and soul into something so const- ructive and worthwhile.

I therefore want to wish Hailing Star all the best with their fundraising single. As a resident of Cullompton and a local town councillor I would like to say on behalf of so many other residents... well done and we are all very proud of you, keep up the good work and thank you for keeping the memory of a local 'lost hero', Daniel Coffey alive, along with many other soldiers in this heartfelt song.
