Devon’s Jo Pavey achieved the 10,000 metres Olympic ‘A’ standard as she finished second at the European Cup in Bilbao last night.

The 38-year-old clocked a season’s best 31 minutes 32.22 seconds as she finished behind Portuguese winner Sara Moreira.

Exeter Harrier Pavey, a former Commonwealth Games silver medallist over 5,000m, has turned her attention to winning a place at the London Games on the track after missing out on the marathon.
