TRIES from Joel Sully and Olly Chanin helped Tiverton complete a dramatic turnaround at Bude on Saturday.

Tivvy recorded a vital 17-15 Western Counties West win in Cornwall made all the sweeter by the fact they had trailed 15-0 towards the end of the first half.

After their slow start Sully and Chanin ran in a couple of tries in quick succession before the break.

Jimmy Atkins was on target with both conversions, before the same player knocked over a penalty in the second half to sew up the win.

Try-scorer Chanin said: "We showed that we wanted it more than them and it was a really good result for us."

Elsewhere already-relegated Withycombe managed their second win of a disappointing season at home to Newquay Hornets.

Withy were convincing 29-19 winners thanks to tries from Gareth Price, Richard Blyth, Adam Morris, Ollie Elsworth and Jimmy Holman.

And Okehampton remained in the top-five thanks to a 28-20 win at Kingsbridge with Matt Dennis going over twice and Rob Fishley and Harry Bushin also dotting down.

In South West One West Cullompton pressed their claims for a top-five finish after a comfortable 49-17 win at strugglers Ivybridge.

Paul Baker and Greg Lock both got try doubles for Charlie Mahon's side, while Sam Harris, Adam Pearce and Harry Shear were all also on the scoresheet.

Cully are now level on points with fifth placed Clevedon and still have a game in hand on the Somerset outfit — who went down 21-13 to Newton Abbot.

The All Whites look dead-set for the second spot in the division and showed their ruthlessness through tries from Alex Jeffrey, James Head and Jason Keenan, while Sidmouth went down 36-3 at Brixham.
