Geoff Gale, from insurance and financial services firm Pavey Group, is another judge, as is Grecians vice-chairman and chief executive Julian Tagg.
The panel will be chaired by Echo sports editor Nick Warren.
Pavey Group are proud to sponsor the business contribution to sport award and chose that category as they understand the importance of supporting sport.
In a statement, the company said: "Sharing a rugby, football, golf or cricket sporting experience with a client is a fantastic way to enhance relationships whilst supporting local teams and venues.
"Pavey Group work hard as a team to reach its goals and feel this is a great ethos to have in any business.
"Research shows that the number of engaged employees in an organisation increases by as much as 11 per cent when people feel they are part of a motivated team, receive regular peer-to-peer recognition and understand how the work of their group affects the larger organisation."
Gale, a director of Pavey Group based in Exeter, said: "With our organisation being located in two areas, Exeter and Torquay, communication and teamwork form a vital part of our business to ensure that our clients' needs are fully met."
The awards will be handed out at a ceremony at Exeter's Rougemont Thistle Hotel on February 26.
There are 10 categories up for grabs, including coach of the year, disabled sports personality of the year, young sports personality of the year and sports teacher awards.
In addition there are sections to celebrate the amateur sports personality of the year and recognise the lifetime achievement of one individual.
