Leonie leads try spree as ladies thrash Bideford
LEONIE Drury scored five tries as Cullompton Ladies thrashed Bideford 91-0.
Emily White was also on form, dotting down a try treble, with Abbey Chapel, Laura Boobier and Sam Harrian scoring two tries apiece and Millie Holway also on the scoresheet.
With four players away on regional duty, Cully fielded an unfamiliar line-up.
But it did not stop the visitors dominating the game from start to finish, with the pack pushing Bideford around the park.
Props Vicky Turner and Melisa Rycroft took charge and scrum-half Ruth Horn and fly-half Lizz Wyle distributed the ball well as Cullompton attacked.
The away side's expansive game left Bideford with no chance, while Drury was especially ruthless in the opposition's 22.
Next up for Cully is the visit of Exeter side Wessex to Stafford Park this Sunday.
The Mid Devon club will be looking to continue the blistering form they showed against Bideford at the weekend.
And with a host of players back they are likely to be even stronger.
Crediton's George Fleming and Cullompton's James Harris both started in Devon under-20s' last-minute 18-13 defeat against Gloucestershire.
Loughborough University student Harris and Fleming, who now plays for Launceston, helped Devon push the reigning champions all the way.
Launceston winger Ben Tolan scored Devon's try, with Josh Coles kicking two penalties but Gloucestershire scored a converted try in injury-time.
Devon's senior side take on Cornwall in the annual Tamar Cup at St Ives on Sunday.
