Life spirals out of control for Susan in Players' shows
EXMOUTH Player's latest week-long production, Being Sound of Mind, is under way at The Blackmore Theatre.
The thriller, by Brian J Burton, is centred around John and Susan Pearson who have rented their usual holiday cottage in France. Susan is particularly looking forward to the holiday as she is recovering from a nervous breakdown.
Shortly after their arrival, the cottage's owner turns up to check that everything is okay. She runs out of cigarettes and John leaves to buy her some.
From then on things go from bad to worse for Susan, starting with the appearance of a man who says he is John and ending in her being taken to the mental wing of the local hospital.
It transpires that Susan is about to inherit all her late father's money, on condition that she is "of sound mind". Is she the victim of an elaborate plot?
The show, at 7.30pm daily runs until Saturday. Tickets cost £7, from the Magnolia Centre Kiosk, Exmouth, or 07905 761485.
