Love is in the air but not for Dame Elizabeth Taylor
IT'S spring and love is in the air. It is blossoming on Exeter Cathedral Green, where couples are sharing glances, a sandwich and a rolled up fag while perched on the wall like lovebirds. Marriage, it seems, is still an option.
A report out this week says children of the divorce generation have kept the faith. They not only want to marry but do it younger than their parents did.
More than eight out of 10 young women with separated parents still dream of walking down the aisle in their mid-20s.
Seventy-eight per cent see marriage as the 'ultimate commitment' beyond having a baby or buying a house with a partner.
Not committing is 78-year-old Dame Elizabeth Taylor. She denied this week she was getting married for the ninth time to her 49-year-old manager Jason Winters.
When love does turn sour, it's the car that takes the punishment when women want revenge. Around 10 per cent of cheated spouses say they would damage their partner's motor to get even. Younger women were most likely to scratch the paintwork, while over-30s were more likely to try to sell the car on eBay!
Here's a list of other things you probably didn't know this time last week.
According to a study, chocolate sales are up by 15 per cent since 2008. The number of chocolate box ranges available has risen by 86 per cent since the recession started.
Cake sales have gone up by 40 per cent! Stacy and I did our bit at last weekend's food and drink festival.
Around 20million of us regularly skip breakfast. Those who don't only manage to spend an average of nine minutes eating it. We skipped it on Monday (see above).
The most productive day of the week is Tuesday. Research suggests workers are at their best at precisely 11:33.
Mondays are for sorting out e-mails and working out a schedule for the week.
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are spent planning for the weekend, said the report.
Halfords advertised for a sleeping bag tester. The pay? £600 a week!
