Man, 90, admits driving into pedestrian in South Molton
A 90-year-old man injured a pedestrian when his automatic car mounted a pavement in South Molton, Exeter Crown Court heard today.
William Peto lost control of the car when his foot jammed on the accelerator in South Street on November 11, last year.

He will be sentenced in three weeks time after the prosecution accepted his plea to careless driving and agreed to drop a more serious charge of dangerous driving.
Lee Bremridge, prosecuting, said the victim had been consulted and the Crown had taken into consideration the fact that Peto has surrendered his licence and has no intention of driving again.

Peto, of Lapford House Wood, Lapford, admitted careless driving at an earlier hearing. He was not present at the brief hearing today.
Judge Francis Gilbert, QC, adjourned the case for sentence, when he defendant will be at court and the full facts and mitigation will be heard.
