Live Coverage: Exeter City v Gillingham: Doherty out for foreseeable future
EXETER City have been dealt a blow ahead of tonight's clash with League Two leaders Gillingham with the news that Tommy Doherty is set to miss the next few weeks of the season with a back injury.
The former Wycombe Wanderers player picked up the injury in Exeter City 2-0 win away Port Vale on February 28, but played in subsequent games against Northampton Town and Bristol Rovers making his condition worse.
Doherty is set to see specialist today, but is expected to be out for a least four weeks meaning he will miss the majority of the promotion run in.
"He will be out indefinitely," said Tisdale. "He shouldn't have played at Bristol Rovers but we were tempted to do it because of the injuries to Alan Gow and Laim Sercombe and Mark Molesley being out suspended."
