Met Office senior manager triumphs in UK-wide awards
A senior manager at the Met Office in Exeter has triumphed in the UK-wide 2012 Institute of Directors (IoD) Director of the Year Awards.
Operations and services director Robert Varley was named Public/Third Sector Director of the Year.
He is responsible for 700 specialists located at 50 sites across four continents and a budget of £42m.
IoD South West chairman Gerry Jones said: "Robert and our other South West entries illustrated that there's an enormous amount to celebrate within our region's enterprise community.
