Victoria Products League

DUNCAN Hill took five hours to catch a couple of minnows at the penultimate league match on Sunday, but it was enough to bag him two points and be crowned Victoria Products League champion.

Dave Walton – who claimed his second win in a row – found the going tough for most of the match, but after catching a few chublets casting towards the far bank in the last hour, he ended with a total of 2lb 20z – the lowest winning weight of the year.

Walton's win prevented runner up Paul Russel from taking the golden peg with his single mullet of 1lb 8oz. Brian Sussex took the section points in the early pegs with just 1lb 3oz.
