Mum raises thousands for hospital's neonatal unit
THOUSANDS of pounds have been pledged to Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital's neonatal unit thanks to an East Devon mum whose baby died hours after being born.
Niki Cunningham, 29, from Budleigh Salterton, founded the Harry Cunningham Trust – named after her baby who died in June – to raise funds primarily for the unit.

In just five months, Niki raised £3,000 which was pledged to hospital doctors at a fundraising ball held at the Beacon Hotel in Exmouth. All 100 tickets were sold for the occasion and about 70 businesses donated prizes for the raffle and auction which raised a further £3,000.
Niki, said: "It was a wonderful evening, everyone had a really nice time.

“Just to correct these figures: £6,000 was donated to NNU from prior fundraising. £3,000 was raised at the Ball and will be donated at a later date.”
