NHS psychiatrist was assaulted during incident in Exeter, court told

A man has appeared on court for attacking a psychiatrist at an NHS property in Exeter.

Joseph Festa, 33, of Manstree Terrace, Shillingford St George, admitted assaulting Dr Giovanni Salvi by beating him in Exeter on November 21 last year.

A community order was made which will see him have to participate in an alcohol specified activity for 12 days over a period of six months and be under a curfew for six weeks.

The order also has a supervision requirement and pay compensation of £100 to his victim. He will also have to pay a victim surcharge of £60.

He also pleaded guilty to assaulting another man during an incident in Exeter on December 4. There was no order for compensation in this case.
