A DEVON woman and her faithful dog are taking on a 630-mile challenge to raise money for charity.

Natalie Husk, 32, will be walking 630 miles along the South West Coast Path from Minehead to Poole in Dorset, from May 1 to June 30 with her dog Toby.

Natalie and the four-year-old Dalmatian have never walked so far before, but Natalie, a representative for the UK charity, The Leprosy Mission, is determined to achieve her goal.

She said: "I'll be walking for about 53 days, with an average of 12 miles a day. I've always wanted to walk the South West Coast path and this seemed like an ideal opportunity to raise much-needed funds."

"All my overnight stays will be with charity supporters en route so all funds raised will go to the charity."

Natalie, of Tiverton, visited West Bengal 18 months ago, and saw hospitals, schools, training centres and community projects, all funded by The Leprosy Mission. She hopes to raise £10,000 – and is already well on her way – to buy specially adapted shoes and prosthetics for leprosy sufferers in India.

She said: "The money will help people walk again and will completely transform their lives."
