New support group to lend ELF a hand
A NEW support group has been formed to aid a city-based charity.
The Okehampton group has been launched by people living in the area who are keen to raise funds for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).
It follows an appeal at the end of last year and the group is so far made up of eight volunteers, including chairman John Barton.
Mr Barton is a patient at the haematology centre at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital and he is assisted on the support committee by deputy chairman Caroline Harris and secretary Graham Roe.
The next meeting of the group takes place at the Plymouth Inn, Okehampton, on Wednesday, February 24, at 7.30pm.
