Occupy Exeter present a talk on living without money on one year anniversary

One man’s story of deliberately living three years without any money will be told in Exeter today as Mark Boyle appears at The Mint Methodist Church to discuss his new book ‘The Moneyless Manifesto’.

The freeconomist, who holds a degree in business, will be discussing the personal story of living completely without money and giving tips and advice on how to simultaneously reduce both dependency on money and ecological impact.

The talk is being presented by the Occupy Exeter group almost a year after their protest on the Cathedral Green. .

The Moneyless Man, Mark’s first book, is a personal story of his first year living completely without money. In it he relives the experience, describing why he initially felt compelled to do it; how he practically went about it; the physical, emotional and psychological challenges he faced; the liberation he experienced; how it felt, on a very personal level, to live without money in a “world driven by the relentless need to make more of it” and the ways it changed his perspective on the world.

The new book, The Moneyless Manifesto, takes an exploration that goes deeper into the thinking that pushed him to make the decision to go moneyless, and the philosophy he developed along the way.
