Oil spillage after car hits tree on A35 in East Devon

A road in East Devon was partially blocked this morning following two separate crashes within a half an hour period.

The A35 at Gammons Hill in Kilmington was partially blocked after a Peugeot 206 crashed into a tree at around 6.35am.

Police and Highways Agency personnel were called to the scene of the collision after the car leaked oil over the road.

The driver of the Peugeot was not injured.

Just 20 minutes later, emergency services were called to the same stretch of the road after a lorry collided with a stationary car.

At this stage it is not known if anybody was injured in the crash which occurred at around 6.55am.
